On July 26, 2020, at approximately 3:35 AM, District Three officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 500 block of Fairbanks Avenue. Responding officers located two shooting victims outside the location. The Cincinnati Fire Department transported one victim to UC Medical Center to be treated for their injuries. The second victim died from his injuries at the scene and has been identified as James Hunter, 29 years of age. No further information will be released on the surviving victim.
The investigation by the Cincinnati Police Department’s Homicide Unit is ongoing. Anyone with information about this homicide is asked to call the Homicide Unit at (513) 352-3542.
